The REACH Library
(Reading Enriches All Children)
Read A Book. Take One Home With You. Leave A Book For Others.
The REACH Library requires approximately 25,000 books donated each year to meet the needs of the children that visit the Children’s Museum of Virginia. The REACH Library accepts new and like-new donations of children’s books and monetary donations at the museum, through the Portsmouth Museums Foundation and through REACH.
REACH is a volunteer organization that supports the literacy needs of homeless and at-risk children living in shelters throughout the South Hampton Roads community in Virginia. Through our Shelter Read Aloud Program, volunteers spend time with the children in shelters reading and doing a support activity. The REACH Read Aloud Program now serves ten area homeless and domestic violence family shelters in all of the cities of South Hampton Roads.
