May is Get Caught Reading month!
Initially launched in 1999 by the Association of American Publishers, this program promotes the fun and excitement of reading books. The campaign provides librarians and teachers with posters of characters, authors, athletes, and media stars who have been “caught reading.”
Andalo was “caught reading” and we want to see you reading, too! Here are some ideas to get started if reading isn’t a part of your daily routine:
- Set aside 30 minutes a day to read—split it up if needed or wanted.
- Have a family book club where both adults and children read the same book and discuss it over snacks.
- Have children create their own posters and fliers of someone (or something) getting caught reading (reading to your pets is fun, too!)
