Girl Scout Programs
Visit The Children’s Museum of Virginia and complete the requirements for earning your Children’s Museum Explorer Patch* through the Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast Council! Ask for a patch requirement sheet at our front desk and start completing the steps to earn your patch!

The Children’s Museum of Virginia offers an exciting location and passionate educators that will lead workshops to help your troop earn badges or patches*. The cost is $12.00 per scout, with every five scouts; one chaperone is required and admitted free. Your workshop fees include admission to the Children’s Museum, so you can explore the Museum after the workshop is complete. Badge workshops must be booked at least one month in advance. A 50% deposit is required at the time of registration. No refunds will be issued if canceled less than two weeks before the program date. We do not permit tag-a- longs; additional parents and siblings can pay the General Admission rate and enjoy the Museum while they await those attending the workshop.

Clover Petal (Daisy Girl Scouts, approx. 1 hour)
This workshop fulfills all of the requirements for the Daisy Clover Petal. Once completed scouts will know how to use resources wisely.
Home Scientist (Brownie Girl Scouts, approx. 1 1⁄2 hours)
Scouts will focus on seeing science in everyday life. Scientists conduct experiments to learn new things but scouts can experiment with items found at home to learn about the world around them. This workshop fulfills all of the requirements for the Brownie Home Scientist Badge.
Detective Badge (Junior Girl Scouts, approx. 1 1⁄2 hours)
Scouts will explore basic detective work, and utilize the skills real detectives use while solving crimes. This workshop fulfills all of the requirements for the Junior Detective Badge.
Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast Council Exploring S. T. E. M. Honoring Dr. Sandra DeLoatch Patch (Daisy, Brownie, and Junior Girl Scouts approx. 1 1⁄2 – 2 hours)
This badge is offered only through the Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast Council. The patch is designed to create an opportunity for girls to explore their interests in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). This workshop does not fulfill all of the requirements for the patch, scouts will need to complete the rest of the patch requirements on their own.
